Why this title "Trilobites Nocturne"?

To enhance fossil display, I decided that a black background should be fine. I've been influenced in this choice by the new design of "La Rochelle" and Toulouse Natural History Museum (I recommend both). The Nocturne is also a classical music style, that's the principal meaning of the word "Nocturne" here.

I hope you'll have a nice visit of this website. I invite you to visit the page of the species list in order to discover all fossils photos.

This website is still in construction. So please apologize me for the "spartan" navigation. It should be better in a few weeks.

What's the goal of this website?

Well, this website is my small contribution on the internet about trilobites and fossiles. The first goal of this website is to provide good quality pictures of interessants fossils from my collection, and some others. I hopes that these pictures will be usefull to some of you. I also create some documents about trilobites. But I didn't do much explainations on this version of this page since english speakers will find plenty of infos about Trilobites on the website of Samuel Gon III.

Project status

• Two new crustacean fossils: Telamonocarcinus gambalatus, a crab and Eryma cretaceum, a lobster-like relative of glypheids.
• New fish-fossil: Ctenothrissa signifer.
• New shrimp: Ambilobeia karojoi.
• Correction of two erroneous identifications by Mike, from trilobita.de: Metacanthina sp. (in fact a Hollardops mesocristata) and Phacops africanus (in fact a Drotops megalomanicus)
• Two previously unidentified fossils are know properly assigned to their species: Encope californicus and Spirograptus spiralis. Many thanks to the visitor who kindly sent an e-mail to gives me the identification of both fossils.
• an additional page to search through the specimens: list of fossils sorted by geological periods.
• Additional informations about Mitrocystella miloni incipiens, Bohemoharpes and Onnia superba.
• A new hi-resolution picture is available for Marrella splendens.
• Enhanced navigation: it is now possible to surf through the gallery alphabetically. Just click one of the two arrows on each side of picture.
• Meyeria magna a glypheoid.
• Three unidentified specimens: A spiny lobster and a slipper lobster both from Lebanon and a fossil sponge from France.
• a new page with the list of fossils sorted by the phylogenetic classification.
• I've added two decapod larva from Lebanon (the first one, the second).
• I enhanced the classification given for each specimen.
• This website's development isn't finished yet. I've added most of my collection's fossils pictures. I've planed to do improve the navigation throught the website, maybe with the integration of a search engine. If you have suggestions, feel free to contact me.
